The Angel's Brother

Part 6

The Archangel had lost faith. The One who knows the mind of all, knew this, therefore he was in danger. There were only two Archangels created for the Kingdom, he and his brother. His brother knew of his doubts, but did not share them, at least not yet. However,he was not alone. There were others that thought as he did, that the Creator and the plan of creation were terribly flawed. So flawed that untold pain and suffering would be unavoidable as time unfolded. It was not his hate of man that would compel him to act. No, it was his innate love of man that would give Lucifer no option but to lead a rebellion against the Kingdom, its King, and its Guardian, his brother Michael.

On the day of their creation, Lucifer and Michael were given the knowledge of creation’s plan. They knew the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the last.He with eyes that see the acts of all, had imparted this knowledge so Lucifer and Michael could better love and protect the creation known as man, that bore the image of the Creator. When the knowledge had been given, Lucifer felt strips of flesh tear from his heart. It would be his first scarring and blood skin. His reaction to the pain was apparent to all. Michael’s was not, only to Lucifer. While he felt his own horror take hold, he watched in equal horror as Michael began to bleed. His brother’s massive wings were armored with almost impenetrable feathers. Where the feathers entered the angel’s body, blood began to seep as Michael’s internally wounded heart absorbed man’s destiny of suffering. Suffering unpreventable, as the details and timing were withheld by He who breathes life, suffering that would grow with each millennium if the plan was unaltered as presented by its Author.

Now Lucifer’s love of man caused him to act. Created so the pain of man caused his love of man to increase, his own pain now intolerable to the angel, forced him into rebellion. His pleas to the Author of Life had fallen on Ears that were closed. When the Creator took Human form as a Jewish male, it was Lucifer that appealed to him for forty days and nights in the desert to alter creation’s plan. Lucifer had thought the Creator would listen as he experienced joy, love and pain as a human, but He would not, and commanded Lucifer away. This convinced Lucifer that it was not just the plan that was insanely flawed, it was also the plan’s Author, the Designer and Author of all that is.

Now as Michael stood at the entrance of the Depths, his own doubts unbearable. Now as Lucifer gazed upon the broken hearted,tortured Michael,for the first time since its imprisonment millenniums ago, Lucifer felt its heart tear. It ripped as it understood the horrified shocked look upon its brother’s face as Michael understood how centuries in the Depths had transformed Lucifer. Transformed it into the creature now before Michael, transformed it from something it would never be again. Lucifer’s blood began to drip from its gums,as its thoughts turned to the rebellion and consumed it from the present moment.
